About Urban Myth Construction & Design

Urban Myth Construction’s roots are in Urban Myth Cabinetry which I started with my buddy Paul in 1993, a Chicago basement operation where we built furniture for local Montessori schools. Years later, in NYC, I had expanded my experience with cabinetry to the complexities of construction in the most dense urban environment in the country, transforming lofts, co-ops and brownstones throughout the city. From there, I would start building custom homes in outer Cape Cod and got bitten by the Passive House bug, a building standard that is gaining tread all over the world for offering its occupants extreme comfort, energy savings and building longevity. In 2021 I won the NY State Buildings of Excellence award for transforming a historic masonry building to the Passive House standard for affordable housing in the underserved City of Newburgh NY, and then in 2024 I won the same award again, this time for a new construction project adjacent to the first.
